Your Website & Online Advertising

In today’s competitive environment, a professional mobile DJ service absolutely needs an attractive and functional website.  Assuming you already have one, you want to attract as many prospects to your site as possible and have them inquire about your services, so that you can then book the events.

If, for example, you are a wedding, corporate and Mitzvah DJ company, you may want to consider creating separate websites for each target market. Why? Because people are much more inclined to hire a specialist rather than a generalist.  Having distinct, specialty sites allows you to use the language and images that will most appeal to that demographic.

Prospects often go online during their workday to do research for their event. Some many not be able to call you from their workplace, which is why it’s a good idea to have an automated system on your site, such as is provided by DJ Intelligence.  Be sure your phone number is clearly visible and include an email address or contact form.  I stress this contact information because I have been to countless DJs websites to get this information and it was no where to be found.

There are several websites that are specifically designed to help prospects and party planners find a mobile DJ entertainer.  Some are free and others have various levels of paid membership.  It has been my experience that adding a free listing is worth just about what I’ve paid for it.  Generally, the higher your level of membership, the greater visibility your company will have.

DJs have varying opinions as to which of these referral sites has the greatest return on investment (R.O.I.), so you may want to pick a few to start with and initially make only a three to six month commitment.  How will you know which sites work best?  You won’t unless you carefully track your results!
