The people you choose as friends and close business associates can define how you are perceived by other people, including potential wedding clients.

You’ve probably heard the famous phrase, “Guilty by association.” People naturally assume that you have chosen your business and personal associates because they are like minded with you.

If one of them expresses an opinion publicly, it is likely that people will assume you share the same or a similar opinion. Maybe this is true, and maybe it isn’t.

Associates and friends who don’t work at strengthening a relationship will ultimately weaken it.

When it comes to growing your wedding business, public perception is very important. Professional mobile DJs in general have fought for years to shed the public perception of the “Cheesy DJ.” Perhaps one of your potential clients has seen a very poor performance by an MDJ in the past.

Aside from your steller website, video demo and marketing materials, it’s glowing testimonials and an impeccable business reputation that will help you to combat negative perceptions about you or our industry with a prospect.

Your image as a professional entertainer is your brand. How others see you professionally and personally is influenced by the associations you keep. Presumptions by others about what we think or feel may not be fair, but it is the reality of how many human beings operate so, when it comes to the people that you surround yourself with in life – choose wisely – they could be with you for a long time!
