“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.” ~ Brian Tracy
Here in the United States, Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday, November 25th. Whether you’re American, Canadian, Australian or living elsewhere in the world, it’s still a perfect time of year to express gratitude to clients, employees, colleagues, members, associates, consultants, friends and of course, family.
Why not show your appreciation for the people who help you succeed and contribute to the happiness in your life with a hand-written “thank you” card, small gift, or even a nicely worded email?
Giving Thanks All Year Long
It has been widely established that it’s far less expensive to retain clients than to attract new ones – and there are many little things you can do to express your appreciation. Here are some suggestions to inspire you:
- Share a relevant article
- Make referrals
- Promote your clients accomplishments and causes through your company’s tweets, Facebook updates, blogs and newsletters.
- Send greeting cards for holidays and birthdays
- Keep in touch just to say “hello”
- Gift cards
- Books, CDs and DVDs
- Food and drinks such as candy, nuts, popcorn coffee and tea
- Useful items such as logo-emblazoned pens, coffee mugs, note pads, calendars, etc.
- Create a free product or service coupon based on your business offerings, or just wrap them up.
Some Personal Thanks
First, last, and always, I want to acknowledge and thank God, the source of all life without whom neither this blog nor I would have been created.
A BIG thank-you to the PMDJ Writers who voluntarily share their knowledge and wisdom every month to help raise the bar of professionalism in our industry: Jerry Bazata, Alan Dodson, Betsy Fischer, Jason Jani, Ray Martinez, Matt Ryan, Ben Stowe and Mike Walter.
I would also like to express my gratitude to our Advertisers whose support allows for the continuation of Pro Mobile DJ: GCI Technologies‘ Gemini DJ, Cortex, iKey, Promo Only, DJ Intelligence, Denon DJ, Custom DJ Drops, and The Crossfader Show. Also, to everyone who has purchased a copy of The Mobile DJ MBA and my other books.
My sincere appreciation goes out to the National Association of Mobile Entertainers and the Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association for endorsing Pro Mobile DJ as a valuable educational resource for our industry. Also to Adam Scott, Robert Starkey and Brian Durio for the contributions you have made.
Last (but certainly not least) I want to acknowledge you, our readers. Without your interest in becoming a better performer and professional, there would be no reason to publish this blog. So, thank you for giving all of us at PMDJ such an important sense of purpose!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2010!
