Pimp My Office

by Stacy Zemon

When you originally furnished your office, did the shopping list go something like this: One desk. Black. One office chair. Gray. One waste paper basket. White. One filing cabinet. Black. You know, the typical choices – Booooooring!

I’m not going to claim that a bright orange desk or an Ameba-shaped conference table is going to magically improve your bookings, but I am sure that a fun office is a happy office. A happy office is someplace that people want to be. And, when people want to be where they are, they tend to be more productive.

“Energize Scotty!”

Imagine having a prospect walk into your office, stop dead in her tracks, look around and then say, “This is the coolest office I have ever seen!” She may not be ready to “sign on the dotted line,” but you will certainly be a stand-out among other DJs when she is ready to make a booking decision.

Here are some “sick” ways to seriously up the cool factor in your work environment.

The Milk desk is a new design to match your Apple gear with it’s white surface and rounded edges. It lowers and raises electrically, it has ways to hide the cable clutter, and it also has four compartments at one end that can be configured for storage, trash or, yes, as an aquarium.

Global Truss offers aluminum trussing in a wide variety of sizes and configurations. Putting up floor-to-ceiling vertical trussing in the four corners of your front office could definitely add to the “Wow” factor of your work space.

Community Color Finish Collection chairs come in in several bold colors. Any one of these bad-ass seat supporters are sure to keep you energized even on those all too common, extra long work days and nights. Personally, I like the red one best!

How About a Nightclub Style Client Area?

Another ideas to “pimp” your office, would be to turn your client meeting area into a nightclub style setting complete with an led table, barrel chairs, and even a red carpet runner in the entry way.

What other rad, hip, awesome or peachy keen ideas do you have?
