ADJA Acquires The WED Guild®

WED Guild

By Stacy Zemon, Publisher & Chief Scribe

We are in an industry that is always changing and we look at how we can improve what we do as entertainers. Maybe it is new lighting, new equipment, or training opportunities. Maybe it is setting a goal in your performance and taking the next steps at being the best you can be. In July of 2014 one of the greatest changes occurred to assist entertainers across the world.

The WED Guild® was acquired by the American Disc Jockey Association. What does this mean for the industry? The Wedding Entertainment Directors® across the country and the world will have more presence in the industry. It will be great for WEDs® to having presence at trade shows not just in the DJ industry but also the wedding industry as a whole.

The WED Guild® didn’t have a marketing budget to work with, but with the ADJA we can count on their support and assistance. The WED Guild® is going to expand globally and with committees within the WED Guild® we can focus on making a difference for couples and DJs everywhere!

Now that the ADJA is involved there are questions about the application being watered down. The application is the same, but the structured support that the WED Guild® is providing will help applicants achieve their goal! The goal for the WED Guild® isn’t to mimic other members of the WED Guild® it is to create the best YOU possible.

Jeremy Brech explains, “I think all members of the WED Guild® would agree that going through the application and being reviewed by your peers was one of the best things we ever did for our businesses. We always think we know everything and we are doing things perfect, but once you have others review what you do and how you do it, simple suggestions can transform your performance.”

WED Guild® Members Speak

It forced me to examine every area of my business and ensure my performance was at its best, knowing that it would be examined by a group of people who I really look up to and understand me as an entertainer.”

The acquisition between the ADJA and the WED Guild® is building new goals and bigger ambitions. Your Goal? You can be a part of something special in 2015! You can be a Wedding Entertainment Director®. To start your journey visit http://wedguild.com/application
