Guest Post by Gene Neri - Midwest DJs Live

MW1BMidwest DJs Live, was held on May 1st and 2nd 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport, started in January 2008 as a one-off get-together in Milwaukee called Practice and NJoy, changed to YouTubeDJs Live the following year, and 2013 – the 5th anniversary! – saw its final name change.

At that first mini-workshop some 30 DJs came to meet and greet, to try their hand at mixing on a variety of different setups and to network. Ideas were swapped, tricks were shown, and it was agreed that a similar event should be attempted the following year, still in the Midwest.

Suppliers started to request to be a part of the show, and in 2010 NLfx Pro and Eternal Lighting, amongst others, were in attendance. Initially, it was a smaller and less structured addition to the DJ calendar. Vitally, it is now the only show in the Midwest, and scheduled in between Mobile Beat Las Vegas and other shows like ARMSDJ and DJ Times in Atlantic City in summer.

The venue is now the palatial surroundings, by comparison, at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport with bigger exhibit space, Seminar rooms and the added advantage of attached hotelMW2 with room blocks for those visitors from out of town.

Much has changed since that first show, but the core reasons to come are still the same. Camaraderie, knowledge, product demos, purchasing gear, and, the traditional networking/spin off/ dance party on Sunday evening at the Branded Steer which is only a half block from the Hotel.

The speaker lineup is set with topics covering many aspects of small business and performance and may be our best yet. Visit the website at www.midwestdjslive.com for details and to purchase tickets, but don’t waste any time, because at the time of this article, there are only about a dozen seminar seats left. To stay up to date with us and the happenings at the show, follow Midwest DJs Live on Facebook, and join the Midwest DJs Live Talk Facebook group where you can chat with other attendees of the show.
